  It's the second time I bring an iMac to PC Magicians to upgrade a HDD to SDD (which definitely speeds up your machine).
The service is flawless, perfect, no bad surprises.

We had an issue with the latest upgrade, probably due to some corrupted (or outdated) applications re-installed on the iMac.

At first the team and I thought it could have been a motherboard failure, which would have required a new spare part (which they said they would have installed at cost if we had to order the part).

In the end, they reinstalled the OS (I had a full backup of the files), carried out some tests for a few days and the iMac is now working, without the need of further expenses. I'm about to reinstall applications & files.

PC Magicians are one of the most ethical companies I've ever met. It's such a pleasure to deal with people like them!

Recent computer repair job in Streatham SW16

An elderly lady from Streatham, SW16 brought her Windows-based laptop to our repair centre. She had dropped the laptop and it was not booting up into the operating system. Usually when you drop the laptop and it fails to boot after that, the chances are that your hard drive is gone. However, we took and laptop for a full diagnosis. This Streatham lady was worried about her data as she did not have any backup. We assured her that we would do as much as we can to help her. Our engineer ran some checks on the hard drive. The damage done to the hard drive was irreparable. However, we put that drive on our data recovery machine to extract as much data as we could. We managed to extract most of her pictures and folders from the broken hard drive. We put a new hard drive in her laptop and installed Windows 7 on it. Then we transferred all the recovered data back to the folders as in her old set-up. This Streatham lady got back the computer in 2 days and was extremely happy with our service.
